TB-500 Is a peptide-based hormone whose primary function is to support recovery and repair of damaged tissue following an injury. It is actually a fragment of a naturally occurring hormone produced by the thymus gland, thymosin beta-4 (TB-4), and is sometimes interchangeably referred to as TB-4, when in reality it is not the same thing.
It is impractical and very difficult to synthesize TB-4 in the lab, but it is much easier to manufacture TB – 500. Also worth mentioning is the fact that TB – 500 is not currently indicated or approved for use in humans, but is sometimes used off-label in racehorses to support recovery following intense training. Nevertheless, its utility in humans is still quite evident.
Effects of TB-500
The primary indication of TB – 500 use is in the event of an acute injury, either muscular or soft tissue in nature. Use of this peptide can greatly accelerate recovery that would otherwise leave you incapacitated or unable to perform routine activity for an extended period of time.
It is believed to help reduce the formation of scar tissue that can impair mobility and full range of motion in damaged tissue, and supports general up regulation of factors that promote recovery.
Other effects may also include assisting with the formation of new blood vessels to bypass obstructive blood flow (angiogenesis), exerting anti-inflammatory effects, analgesia, all contributing to you making a rapid return to the gym.
It also shows promise in helping to reverse male pattern hair loss, though most of these reports are anecdotal in nature.
TB – 4 is naturally produced in the thymus gland, though the amount produced diminishes significantly as we age. Under the influence of natural TB –4, stem cells are encouraged to proliferate into necessary other cell types, such as muscle cells, and initiate recovery. TB-500 possesses these traits as well, and can be administered in a fashion that is predictable.
The small molecular size of TB – 500 also means that you do not need to locally inject at the site of injury, as it easily makes it way around the bloodstream where it reaches its target location.
TB – 500 is usually administered for a period of 4 to 6 weeks, with convenient twice-weekly dosage schedules. 2 mg to 2.5 mg is usually sufficient to greatly accelerate recovery, often times allowing you to resume activity within a cycle length. Subsequently, you can also maintain a lower dosing frequency of 1 to 2 times monthly in order to fully support complete recovery and range of motion.
It may be administered intramuscularly, intravenously, or subcutaneously.
Experienced athletes may also combine it with exogenous HGH, GHRPs or other GHRHs to potentiate its already strong effect, and help keep body composition ideal during a short period away from the gym.
Growth hormone can independently induce significant enhancements to recovery rate, which when combined with TB – 500 increase exponentially.
Possible Adverse Effects Of TB-500
Official reports of side effects related to TB – 500 use are extremely limited owing to the nonofficial usage of the peptide, with only localized pain and irritation occurring based on reports of users. Looking at it from a pharmacological standpoint, an increased likelihood of autoimmune reactions are likely based on up regulation of many immune mediators, though these adverse effects have not been confirmed.
TB – 500 takes advantage of one of the body’s most effective recovery hormones, and can mean the difference between you recovering fully and never being able to lift heavy again. However, it is important to keep in mind that human use is completely off label with the potential for surprise adverse effects to manifest.
